current music: Oasis - Wonderwall



When I was a young boy, I first heard this song as it streaked all over top 10 charts and hit radio stations everywhere. I saw this MTV played dozens of times, but I don't think I really understood anything. What was a 'Wonderwall'? What's with the clowns and show girls?

Ten years, dozens of music samplings, Wikipedia and actually falling in and out of love changed everything. Now I wonder about whatever became of the silly little man who carved holes in his wall to get a glimpse of the girl who he could never really have, but whom he loved with all his heart, unbeknownst to him that their lives would collide in such a big way.

I read the lyrics and think to myself if such things could happen to me. If I could be so lucky to be watched, waited by and wished for, and somehow rescued. Or if somebody was already like that for me: that one fateful day, out of the black that falls in time, our lives we find will just some way collide.
